Help me with driving?

i did about 14 hours of driving lessons about 6-8 months ago and then had to stop due to money running out. i have now started up again and have my first lesson at 5:30 today and im nervous. i remember most of the basics but im scared it will be like my first lesson all over again. can someone please remind me what to do with the peddles and gears to pull away and when approaching a roundabout/junction please xx

  1. Just explain to the instructor the situation  and take it steady it will come back to you


  2. Try not to be nervous as your instructor will start you off nice and easy and then progress as it comes back to you.  Main thing is to enjoy your lessons.

  3. Do you have time to get to a bookshop before your lesson? If you do, get the official DSA Driving Skills Handbook. I bought this to read between lessons as a beginner, to consolidate what I'd learnt. It should help you remember things.

    You should always pull away in 1st gear.

    At roundabouts, the right has priority, so you should be looking for a safe gap on the right before you pull away.

    But like the previous poster said, explain your situation to your instructor so they are aware that you'll be rusty. I bet it'll come flooding back to you as you drive though. Good luck!
