Help me with my BlackBerry Curve, please?

I just bought a new 1GB Sandisk Memory Card for my BB, but my cell doesn't want to take it. It seems the metal flap doesn't want to close all the way down. Should I take it back to the AT&T Store? Or should I see if I can fix it myself? I'd really like your help, please.

you do not put the memory card and close the flap.

you need to slide the memory card on the flap and close it and lock it...
