Help me with my debate about oil..?

Question

I will be presenting the good effects of increased in oil price.

Are there any benefits to the economy?

Just give answers in points, they might help me next week.

Higher oil prices mean higher gas prices.

Higher gas prices mean:

People choose to drive less when they can.  This means less polution; less global warming.

People buy more fuel effiecient cars, so even when they drive the same amount, they burn less fuel, which means less pollution; less global warming.

People choose to live closer to where they work.  That means less driving; less pollution; less global warming.  It also means less urban sprawl, so wildlife have more habitat in which to live.

When people drive less, it wears out the roads less and fewer new roads are needed.  This saves us tax money that would be used to build and repair roads.

As gas prices go up, it automaticaly creates more demand for alternative energies, so companies do more research and work harder to invent alternative fuel technologies.

Alternative energies mean less oil is needed, so less is shipped and there are fewer oil spills.  An oil spill is a huge expense to the taxpayer.

BENEFITS TO WHO'S ECONOMY?

1. Less people driving = less pollution. Yay!

2. More people made poor, Islamic Monarchy able to police and kill more people more easily. Boo!

3. Last democracy (in theory) closer to failing = more slaves to build monuments for Islamic/Communist leaders with.

OPEC the organization of petroleum exporting countries is the main body for the oil trade but you know the prices are set in the new york ot texas ? why?

because , all the investment and infrastructure  in oile fields belong to these companies, there are wars going on the oil and for the time being these wars are won by these companies,
