Help me with my fish tank p.H!?

I have bought a massive tank and it is in cycling now, I know most of it and have a test kit but I am really not sure on how to measure the pH and how to change it!!

  1. Unless you are planning on keeping some kind of fish that only tolerates a certain pH then I wouldn't bother about it.  The water that you have is what you will always have a most fish are quite adaptable to differing pH levels.  Once you start messing with it then you have to try to maintain it and that is very difficult.  

    The most important things to know are ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.

  2. You buy a test kit for pH and you test the water for pH.

    And don't bother trying to change your pH. Most fish can live in a variety of pH, except for sensitive fish, such as saltwater fish, Discus, Killifish, etc.

    Adding unnecessary chemicals will just mess up your tank chemistry.

    Chemists play with chemicals, not aquarists.
