My grandson is two years old and he visits only twice a month. I bought him a backless car booster seat but it seems that when he falls asleep his head is all over the place. Is there some type of head protection that I can use for him?

  1. A  car seat that supports his head might help - the kind with a back on them, not the backless style.

  2. this really isnt a problem, but if you feel the need to stop his head from moving all over the place, get something to strap him in completly

  3. he needs a different car seat... i believe until they are 4 and 40 pounds...

  4. A motorcycle helmet. They offer very good protection.

Just kidding. Get a more substantial car seat with some head and back support.

If it's still a bit of a problem, you can put a couple of towels or blankies alongside his head.

(I was wondering what a 'grandon' was until I read your post!)

  5. Try this site...

  6. He's to young and small for a booster seat.

He needs a proper child seat.

  7. he needs a full car seat ! ! !

  8. a child of this age should never be in a booster seat.

A child safety seat with a five point harness is the safest way to keep these babies safe in the car.  You can keep a child in a 5 point harness even up to 80 lbs,  especialy if they are on the shorter side.  A regular carseat does not provide th security a child needs and a booster seat is unsafe in a crash, especially for a child this young!

here are some videos and links wih important information about the 5 point harness versus the booster eat.

Aside from the safety issues revolving around a crash situation-  a child that is still prone to falling asleep in the car should have their head supported-  the jarring motions from the car can really do a number on their neck and spine making them vulnerable to all the problems that come along with developing subluxations.

  9. He needs to still be in a car seat with a 5 point harness.  You can buy him a 5 point harness seat that can later be used as a belt positioning booster.  Graco makes a good one that is reasonable.
