Help me with my horse please!!?

Question

Hi my name is Laura and im new on here. I have a new loan horse called Lyrics. She a thoroughbred cross mare and is quite strong. I loan her with this other girl who told me that the owner told her that she is going to find me a smaller horse on loan as she doesnt think Lyrics is right for me...I love her loads already and io cant bear to leave her. Im not supposed to know this so i cant confront the owner and well what would you do? I have asked the owner if she thinks Lyrics is right for me and she said yes and that i will go far on her in my show jumping especially. So one of them is not exacly telling the truth. Help me please figure this out. Laura.

It sounds like stupid barn gossip to me. Ignore it. If she does find you a new horse to loan then thats what happens but I dont think she will. Just ignore it and concentrate on your riding.

I think confront is the wrong word here, that's something you dont want to do...Now you heard this from someone else right?  I would while having a normal conversation with your trainer ask her, tell her what you heard.  If you want to stick with this horse let her know.

Hi Laura and welcome to Answers!  It sounds like the other girl might be a bit jealous to me from what you say.  Don't worry about it.  Just let the owner know great you think her horse is and how much you enjoy riding her.  Then she will know that you don't want to give her up.  You have asked the owner and just have to trust that she is telling the truth.

From what you say I'd assume that it is the other girl who you loan with telling lies. Maybe she is doing it so that you give up your claim on Lyrics. Stand your ground and believe nothing until you hear it straight from Lyrics' owner and not a second earlier.

Well, i think that it IS best that you don't "confront" the owner, but just talk to her.

Unfortunately, dealing in horses is not like dealing in toys, just because you love something doesn't mean it is always best. Maybe this girl is trying to stir up trouble, but if the owner said that your good for Lyrics then thats the opinion i should trust. I don't know how long your been riding, how long the horse has been in work or how much work she's been doing.

Unfortunately, the end decision is the owners, and if your riding isn't up to scratch then the owner must do what is right for the horse, not for you.

everyone falls in love with the horse they get closest too. =] but you just have to remember that there are always other horses out there!!! and maybe the owner knows best! or maybe the other leaser wants lyrics ALL to herself and told you that to make you forget about riding her... there are all kind of things that could of happened.. theres really no telling. just let time do the talking. Patience is key.

just DON'T stop riding lyrics. keep working with her. keep doing as you were before your little problem started. don't let something like this get in the way of you and what you love!!

you know maybe this other girl doesnt want you riding lyrics. i know some people have trouble sharing horses with each others cuz everyone has a different style of riding and is trying to discourage you.. i wouldnt worry about it though because if your not scared of riding lyrics and you dont mind that shes strong, you will learn alot. my horse when i first bought him was very strong but i really learned alot more about riding from him then any instructor. plus my arms got really strong cuz i would have to hold on for dear life when he would just try to pull me down with his head!  i say just keep riding her, have fun and if the owner does ends up trying to get you another horse, tell her that you really love lyrics and you really want to keep riding him and you dont mind that she's strong and you can handle it. hope this helps.
