Help me with my limerick?

I am writing a limerick about New Orleans....I want it to begin, "There once was a crescent-shaped city"......that's all I have.....help? I'm not good with poems, limericks.....

Is this for school?If I remember correctly,lims' are only 4 lines long."Down by the Gulf lies a crescent shaped city.Where the sights and the scenes were oh so pretty.Katrina came hard with no love in her heart,with vengeance and hatred she ripped it apart, but this crescent' resilliant,yes,family and friends,we love this great city called New Orleans!  (pronounced New Orlins)
