Help me with my molly!? What's wrong with it?

I have a pregnant Lyretail molly. I have her in a 10 gallon with another Lyretail female, a female dalmation, a male dark orange with black tail, a male dwarf gourami, 2 spotted cories, and 1 green cories. She's far into her pregnancy because she looks like she could pop! She doesn't eat fish food, but she picks crud off my fake rubber anenome. She always stays at the bottom. Is something wrong with her?

  1. I would separate her. You have WAY TOO MANY fish in that 10 gallon.

Maybe get one of those breed and show tanks they fit right inside your reg. tank. This will give her some peace and quiet she needs.

Put a few plants for the fry to hide in the small separated tank.

    Just what I would do.

  2. Hi when they are ready to pop they do tend to stop eating and stay at the bottom or wherever it is quite. I have had plenty of mollie fry and it happens ever so quickly it does sound like she is very imminent. Good Luck :) They are so cute. If you wish to keep the fry she will need to be kept away from them if not let nature take its course.

You could do with a larger tank and maybe one for your fry.
