Confused by the question but think of what kinds of things are in those liquids you mentioned.  Gatorade contains lots of potassium so your human body can retain some of the needed salts in your body.  For a plant, potassium is needed for over all greeness and its kind of the catch all of the 3 numbers on every bag of fertilizer out there.

The first number, Nitrogen is how the plant grows on top of the soil.  Its acidic.  In fertilizer its sometimes used in the ammonia because it contains nitrogen.

The second number, phospherous, is the number that helps with how the plant grows underneathe.  This is the main nutrient that helps with the root growth.  This is a basic element as opposed to nitrogen which was acidic.  In your lawn, this element isn't as important once you've got a well establish yard.  Initially, this is a VERY important element.

The third number is the potassium.  Like I said before, potassium is basically a catch all element.  This element protects from drought stress and keeps the lawn green.  Its another acidic element.

Sometimes plants CAN grow with things like Gatorade as the food source just because the plant might need more potassium.

Vinegar?  Yeah, I'm guessing the plant you might be trying to grow also might be a more "acid loving" plant.  

Besides these chemicals, I've heard of people using straight household goods mixed together on they're yard.  I forget what the exact mix of things they use is but some of the things I remember made sense at the time.  Things like liquid soap used to get very good coverage on the plants.  Beer, for many reason like there are a lot of ingredients similar to grow lawns.  I can't remember many more but I figure I'll try anything that makes sense at least once to see result....in my backyard.  Then if it goes wrong, its in my back yard not where EVERYONE will see it.
