Help me with phone settings...?

i have a siemens gigaset A160 phone model. I have no idea how this happened, but the main screen just keeps showning a blinking sign saying "Base"...i read manual instructions, but i cant understand most of it, and the stuff i tried doing doesnt work. I can't make nor receive any calls bacause of this. What should i do?

First check out if you got the hardware connected right!!....check all plugs and the power supply! usually if you do that the base should power up by itself!!
