Help me with the dispatcher test?

i am taking a test for a 911 dispatch job. i sure allot of people will be taking this test. can you tell me what may be on this test. is it just typing what i hear or is there actually test

You better believe there is a test. Do you think 911 dispatch is a game? If you do please don't even take the test, nor the training, find another type of job.911 is a very serious position.

Some of the questions pertain to knowing location of a call, 911 is not always in the same town as the dispatch office is located. In Ca. CHP answers the 911 call or in Stanislaus country Consolidated does. You have to know which PD,FD, or ambulance to call out. You also have to be able to understand and read instructions for CPR, and many other medical procedures, like delivering a baby, stopping bleeding, pressure point to take pulse, how to get out of the house that's on fire,  how to help a drowning person, there are millions of calls a day and seldom are two alike. Typing is part of it, and you need to be fast you also need to be able to talk on the phone, type and dispatch an emergency unit at the same time.

Then you have to relay it to the proper city.
