  1. if you are being abused, you need to speak to someone about this immediately.

    n=number of years.

    1. 27990(1.275)^n

    therefore, after one year the car should be priced at $35687.25

    most are based around the above formula.

    it's importnant that you understand how to do these equations.

  2. These are pretty basic.  I'll give you the set up, but try doing the math yourself.  If you really are being abused (and by that, I don't mean just made to stay home or having tv privileges taken away), you need to contact someone who can help, e.g.... grandparents, teacher,  principal, police officer, school nurse, etc.

    1.  $2799 * .0275 + $2799 = new price

    Note:  To skip the step of adding back in the original price, you get the same result if you multiply by 1.0275.

    2.  $220,000 * 1.12 (using hint above) = price after one year

    From that result subtract .07(price after one year) = price after 2 years

    3.  In this one it makes no difference if you bought 1000 shares or only 1, but here is how to do it.

    $1.82 *1.15 = sell price if making a profit

    $1.82 - (1.82*.05) = sell price if taking a loss (This one you can also do in the opposite way, that is .95($1.82)--this works because if you take a 5% loss you only have 95% left

    4.  X (investment amount) * 1.0575 = $5000

    X = 5000/1.0575
