  1. Good question.  This quotation is a little awkward, so when considering its veracity, I would change it to "Caring for the suffering of others is the most essential human trait," or something of that nature.

Keep in mind, the quotation as written is slightly more subtle because it uses the word "makes".  "Makes" in this context probably means "defines", but it could also imply that the act of indifference "changes" a human being into something lesser.  Bernard Williams has written many great essays touching on this subject, especially his essays dealing with equality.  Basically, you hear the term "equallity" and that "people should be treated equally" often, but there is very little said about what this actually means.  Williams argues that it is in our humanity, our ability to love, to hate, to think, to feel, that we are equal.  Our characteristics may be different, but our underlying humanity is the same.  (Some of) the worst atrocities of history (holocaust, slavery, etc.) were committed because one group systematically denied the humanity (i.e. the ability to feel pain, anger) of another group.

Empathy, like a shared sense of humor, connects us to the people around us.  It emphasizes our common humanity.  Why can your best friends always make you laugh?  Here's a hint; it's the same reason best friends cry together.  It is a shared sense of humanity.  To see someone suffering and feel nothing is the equivalent of saying "I have nothing in common with you, not even humanity."  Hopefully, this gives you an idea of where to start.

I hope this made some semblance of sense, and I hope you come to your own conclusions about what it means to be human.

  2. humas go through a lot of hardships in life.

if we ever say that we are not use to the hardships/sufferings,

then i guess we're not human.

  3. Hands that help are holier than lips that pray.

The gift of food to the hungry is the noblest of all gifts.

What God gives is never exhausted. what man gives never lasts.

  4. A Devil was auctioning his weapons like hate, greed, and  lust but it was noticed that he  was keeping one weapon hidden and not showing for sale. some one got interested in that weapon and asked for it,

the Devil said, it was his favorite and most effective one.

On closer inspection of the weapon,

it turned out the weapon carried the label ..

    Indifference.
