Help me with this basic math word problem:?

Two runners finished a race in 80 seconds, another runner finished the race in 72 seconds, and the final runner finished in 68 seconds. The average of these times is?? What do I add and divide? Is that how I get an average?? Thanks a lot.

  1. Take all three numbers add them all together. Divide the sum by how many numbers you have. That should then be your average.

    80 + 80 +72 + 68 = 300 / 4 = 75 average

    so ur answer is 75 seconds
