  1. correct her

    wait...

    is she asian?

    if she is then she just have an accent in her voice.

  2. The problem is that you're swimming upstream on this.

    The normally accepted pronunciation is Re-Gina.

    It's how the City of Regina, Saskatchewan is pronounced.

    It's how the description of Queen Elizabeth's role ("Elizabeth, Regina...") is pronounced.

    And it's been that way for a thousand years or so.

    Even the spell-checker here thinks it should be Regina (try spelling it Ragina and find out)

    Why don't you start spelling it Ragina, so people are clued in to how to pronounce it?

  3. Play dumb. Turn to her with your eyes wide in surprise that she's made such a silly mistake, and say, "I'm sorry, you're mistaken. My name is  --" then give the correct pronunciation. Repeat as often as necessary -- "I'm sorry, but you are calling me by the wrong name. My name is ---."

    Keep your cool and don't yield to the temptation to act annoyed. If she is trying to imply that you are pronouncing your own name wrong it will drive her nuts because she either has to confront you about it directly or back down and pronounce it right. If she is genuinely clueless, repeated correction should help her memorize the right way.

  4. Are you really young? Most people get past the name thing when they mature. Just remind her how it is pronounced, and if you want that it is important to you for some reason.

  5. You might suggest to her quietly that your name is not pronounced like a female body part, and you find it embarrassing.  Tell her it is not Ra-gi-na like the body part, it's Ra-gEna, like YOUR NAME.

    If she continues to do it again, she's obviously doing it on purpose.  You can then:

    1. Ask her to call you by your last name;

    2. Start pronouncing her name incorrectly on purpose to give her a hint;

    3. In a loud voice, make a comment similar to "Oh you poor dear, how long have you had that speech impediment, it must be so embarrasing that you can't pronounce a person's name correctly.  Let me help you.....it's RA-GENA, like jeans, not GINA like body parts.  Let's say that together....Ra-GE-NA.  There you go!"

    Hopefully, she's not being malicious and trying to embarrass you on purpose and you don't have to use the last one.

    Good luck!

  6. name?

    I too have a nickname, I was named after my daddy-pa.and his name  (my given name)  which I never use.

      This is advantagious when I answer the phone and somebody mispronouces my name.  I know immediately they don;t know me very well.  If they call me by my dad's name.  or misprounounce my last name.  I just tell them " I don't want any." of whatever they are selling.

  7. Lmfao! Sorry to hear that. Just tell her politely that you pronounce your name like ra-gina. When she says ra-gi-na be like oh um its ra-gina. Hope i helped!

  8. Just tell her plain and simple how to pronounce it, RA-GINA.

    Just say like "It's ra-gina"

  9. When she calls you 'RA-GI-NA' again, say 'Excuse me, it's actually RE-GINA' and just smile kindly... don't try to be sarcastic or mean about it... you might offend her.

  10. Keep correcting her, she'll get it or ignore her until she gets it right.

  11. I prefer Ra-Gina,

  12. Tell her it sounds like Gena, with a Ra in front and that the way she is pronouncing it is a bit offensive.

  13. Punch her in the face.

  14. Just politely correct her. If this does not work, and you have a nickname like "Gigi" tell her to call you that. If she still does it, tell to call you Ms. ---- ( whatever your last name is)

  15. say: accuse me im very sorry to point this out but my name is actually pronounced ra-gina not ra-gi-na

    and if she carrys on or starts on you then shes obv just a moron
