Help me with this poem?

Question

Well, it's actualy a song, this is a stanza from the song, it goes:

In the lives that we live

Are the choices

Written on our face

Like a dogtag

And in every strand of hair

Lies a story

About how the person was molded

I want a different word instead of "dogtag" but can't think of anything. Any other help is appreciated, too. =]

well it doesnt seem like it could go into a song but try like the person other than me said tatoo like you could say

Was brought up in there own way

not trying to change it just something i thought was good but yhea
