I played All star or Rep Hockey last year and this year tryouts are in a couple of weeks and I told my parents that I wanted to focus more on my education and not play all star hockey. But they didn't agree and we started arguing. What should I do? There practically forcing me to play. I am a good student and a great baseball player and I know I have more potential in golf and baseball but they are forcing me to play rep. Can you help me with this problem?

  1. It sounds to me that your parents are trying to live their childhood through you. They wanted to be the star athletes and it didn't work out for them and they want you to grow up and support them with your huge contracts and endorsement deals which you wouldn't get if you pursued a higher learning education.Honestly your parents make me sick doing this..This is one of the main reasons why our society is the way it is.Nobody wants to be a teacher anymore because of the pay.Hopefully someone knocks some sense into them soon and realizes that your education is much more important then THEIR pipe dream for you.Just ask them what will happen if you don't make it to become a professional athlete which is borderline impossible these days?No education to fall back on.

  2. just say you don't want to play and you'd rather play baseball/golf, or if they force you to go, you should purposely not do well and therefore you will not make it.
