I want to make homemade oatmeal clusters but I don't know what else to put in them.

my recipe calls for......

I was also thinking raisins too

If you have any other suggestions on what I should add or even take out plz tell me =p

  1. Cinnamon, Raisins and a little bit of Nutmeg.

I would not recommend using olive oil because they will probably not be the correct consistency.

  2. needs more cowbell

  3. Well, I would suggest you use Canola oil instead of olive oil as the flavor is less intense but it is still a very healthy oil.  Almonds (the plain kind you buy for baking) are considered very healthy and so are dried apricots and dried cranberries.

    Sounds good!

Oh, you didn't say you were allergic to nuts at first.  Skip the nuts then, sorry.

  4. Hot sauce, green beans, corn bread, fried chicken.

  5. I find when I get  stuck with a recipe I go to foodnetwork.com  you type in what you want in this case oatmeal clusters and a bunch of different recipe choices come up for you to pick and choose from.

    hope this helps.

  6. Cinnamon & Nutmeg. and add the rasins and maybe some walnuts maybee..

  7. Olive oil will not be so hot reserve the olive oil for cooking dinner, raisins are great, you can try dried fruits.  I would try to limit the diffrent types of sugars used.  Stick with one type honey is great. Mollasis is much over looked.  Remember if you are trying to stay healthy lots of sugar is not the way to go.  Cinnimon is great if using brown sugar Raisins will go with both Brown sugar and honey.

  8. cinnamon and coconut

  9. Here is a plain recipe, sweetheart:  http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1910,153...

As a chef, I can tell you that olive oil will work but the olive oil taste will remain.  Better to use vegetable, canola or a blended oil.

  10. There is an australian classic biscuit (cookie to us readers) that has similar ingredients, but uses golden syrup for sweetner and has desicated coconut, we love them of course, but for you the coconut may be a nice addition.

Here's a link to Anzac bickies is you are interested (PS the Anzac stands for Australia and New Zealand Army Corps, this recipe originated during the first world war) http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/15770/ch...

  11. maybe some chopped nuts and granola???
