Help me with this virus? Please? ?

Question

a few days ago i went on this site, and a bug or virus or whatever went into my computer. My computer is VERY messed up. I'm surprised that it's letting me use the internet explorer. But I installed Norton 360 and I downloaded this SuperAntiSpyware thing. There is still this bug? What can I do? I feel really bad about this lol. since this is my brother's computer. Please help?

first put the computer in safe mode. to do this, restart the computer. and press F8 repeatedly when it first shows a starting up screen, this should bring up the startup menu, so u can start in safe mode. safe mode doesnt allow some things to run and will look different than your regular desktop. (smaller resolution mostly). there is no audio in safe mode and most of the time no internet. (unless u have vista, i dont think xp allows it)

anyways. while in safe mode run your virus and spyware programs. you could do this in normal mode too but if your comps freezing/crashing thats a problem.  you may have a trojan. i got a bad trojan a few weeks ago. somehow it kept downloading more trojans. my AVG scan said I had like thosands of trojans. but it couldnt heal or remove  some of them because it would cause my computer to crash when it did. so I kept removing the ones AVG could. I had to delete the first trojan manually. it was in a folder called gamespy arcade or something.

anyway, when u do a scan, if it says it cant remove one, see what the file location is and try to delete it yourself.

Don't run more than one virus scanner at the same time. i hear it can cause problems.

If this doesn't solve the problem, then email me.

(and ignore the first answerer, reformatting will erase all your files and restore the computer to its original state, like when you first bought it. all your programs you've installed since will be gone. everything. you don't want to do that, unless it cant be fixed, which is most likely not the situation.)

um...superantispyware thing?

sounds like you downloaded MORE malware in trying to fix it

First make sure you run a full scan with Norton 360. It should be able to fix everything.

well if your anti-virus and stuff don't work try to contact im computer guy he should fix it. not to worry you are anything it almost sounds like a trojan =[. It will really mess your computer up. by the way that virus is almost impossible to destoy. so lets hope it not that that would suck

-Do not use ANY antivirus EXCEPT McCafee, as I believe it is the best.

If reformtating is a problem, them simply remove all the virus protectors and get McCafee. Its simply, easy and works well.
