1.  I learned to play the guitar when I was a teenager.  It wasn't easy at first.  But I got pretty good at it!

2.  In my 40s my GF bought me a machine to roll pasta.  I really wanted to learn to make my own noodles because I'd had homemade noodles and they were really good!  But I had trouble at first.  The dough was always either too wet or too dry. It took several experiments to get it right, but after that it was really easy.  I used to get invited by friends to a spaghetti dinner.  Would you bring the spaghetti, please?  There will be eight people there.  We'll make the sauce.

3.  I never thought I'd get out of school.  I got to HATE school.  But I managed to get through it.  I found I liked working much better.
