  1. This will require a little work on your part, but may help.

Write a letter to the Concierge at every Las Vegas Hotel. You can get their addresses and websites at www.lvrj.com (the local paper) Tell them what you said above. Don't make it to sappy, just the facts. And ask if they have any specials that you might qualify for. Most hotels will not respond at all, they get many requests like this, a few will send you some sort of ad that may include a discount, and one might even give you what ever you want as a promotion. Be sure to include your email address as the hotels love to send out blanket emails. I get 4-6 per week.

Another factor that is important, the dates. You said March 16-19, 2009. That is a Monday through Thursday, days of the week where rooms are cheapest and tourism is at it's lowest, so you chances just went up. If you have to pay, the rates will be at their lowest.

Send these letters as soon as possible,

Also try www.vegas.com, and try the hotels websites directly.

Good luck and please express my and my families thanks to you soldier for his service, and to you for your support.

  2. Generally you have to play big bucks to get a free room. Go to the hotel websites that interest you (like www.mgmmirage.com takes you to all their properties, www.playrio.com is for Rio, www.venetian.com for Ventian and Palazzo) and sign up for their email list - they send you promo codes about once a week. You've got time to shop around, so if you see a flight deal come thru snap it up and worry about the hotel later.

  3. I think we need a lil more info....Some unsolicited advice-I think a soldier coming from a war zone needs home, comfort and quiet instead of noisy crowds, casinos, and loud noises...I'm just saying.

  4. There are always lots of deals in Vegas. Here is a good place to check for hotel promotions and codes.

Also remember the military gets discount rooms at Best Western hotels in Vegas.

  5. Check with Venetiain who recently gave discounted trips to some returned soldiers.
