  1. Substitute:

    Almond breeze for soymilk

    brown sugar for molasses

cocoa powder instead of chocolate chips

    cinnamon for ginger

    vanilla for nutmeg

-brown sugar tastes the best in cookies, dont substitute

  2. All of those ingredients should be fine, but check the chocolate chips and margarine for animal derived ingredients, like milk, milk fat, whey, butter, etc.

Molasses substitute: 3/4 cup brown sugar plus 1/4 cup water.

Here is a really good vegan recipe for cookies:

    Chocolate chip cookies:

If you don't have the right kind of butter for this, you can substitute it for half vegetable oil and half vegetable shortening. Also here is a list of egg substitues: http://www.dummies.com/WileyCDA/DummiesA...

  3. Tropical Source and Sunspire both make vegan chocolate chips!  You can get them at your local natural foods store or at Whole Foods.

You can use rice milk or nut milk in place of soy milk.  However, soy yogurt is the only vegan yogurt I know of.

There are many recipes without ginger and nutmeg--many vegan cookbooks will have recipes for cookies.

What's wrong with molasses?  There's nothing you can really substitute, as it has a particular flavor that may be necessary for a particular recipe.

If a recipe calls for oil, don't use margarine; the textures and compositions are different, and it will mess up your recipe.

Vegans can indeed use flour, brown sugar, and white sugar.  But I prefer to use turbinado sugar or evaported cane juice crystals.

As for whether your chocolate chips are vegan, check the label.

  4. This is my favorite Vegan Dessert. It is rich, creamy and you will not miss dairy at all.
