I need answers!!!!! please!?

help...i didnt mean to file a claim for a lost refund tax check...i already got it...and thought it was for the stimulus can i cancel my claim!!! ahhh!?

  1. Don't cash the check.  Call the IRS to see what can be done to return the uncashed check.


  2. Contact IRS at 1-800-829-1040

  3. If you requested a replacement for a lost check and later found it, you should return the lost check to IRS.  Do not attempt to cash it.

  4. The IRS will investigate the claim once it's received.  If they are showing in their system that the check has been cashed, they will send you a letter.  It's easy to just let them know you've received the check - once you do, they'll close the claim
