Yawning is fine, he's just tired. Actually if he's yawning out in the open, it means he's very relaxed and trusting.

Yeah definitely its fine and very normal. Most times when you call out your hamster during daytimes, they get disturbed from their deep sleep and would come out of their nest yawning widely. It is perfectly normal.
