  1. A Micrometer is used for diameters of any circular piece, and I learned about micrometers before.

Nanometer is used to measure pretty small stuff, but I don't know... maybe in computer processors' manufacture.

Megameter = one million meters, so if their is a tool like that, then it would be used in earth surveying.

Gigameter = 1 billion (10^9) metres, also another massive distance, so I think it has the same use of a Megameter.

  2. MICRO

    measuring wavelengths of infrared radiation.

We use the micrometer for measuring small pieces with high precision

We can use micrometers to measure the outside diameter (OD) of shafts and the thickness of shims or sheetmetal.

    NANO

    atomic force microscopes.

Inside of your computer are tiny switches that are only 100 nanometers wide.

We can think of the smell of freshly baked cookies and that is something that happens on the nanometer scale. The molecules that are released from the cookie when it bakes are less than a nanometer in size and so they are carried through the air to our noses because they are so small.

    MEGA

The Earth's polar circumference is 39.94 Mm. (It was exactly 40 Mm from 1791 to 1875; see metre).

The distance from Amsterdam to Marseille is approximately 1 Mm.

The Earth's equatorial diameter is 12.76 Mm.

    GIGA

1 AU is equal to 149.6 Gm

diameter of the Sun is 1.4 Gm

mean radius of Mercury's orbit is 57.9 Gm

    Good luck
