Help! most places i've known won't accept me for volunteering! went to salvation army, store, etc...

Question

i asked them if they have the form for me, but they say they've had enough people already, or the seats already taken.

is this sort of a rejection?

any experience?

i'm 17 by the way.

ow...getting rejected from volunteering, that hurts. I did volunteer work at an inner city hockey program last winter and we had serious issues with some of the high school volunteers, so that may be what there fear is

That's disheartening.  Is there a local volunteer center that can help place you?  try doing a yahoo search for your area.  I'm sure there are smaller places that need your help that are off the radar.

To truly help, you have to find a need you can fulfill that is not already taken.  Don't lose heart!  You will find some one that can use your help.  It's only a matter of time.  Try checking with local church pastors.  They usually know the local goodygoody causes :)
