Question:

Help moving my iTunes library!?

So I usually keep my itunes on my laptop, but my laptop is now infected with a deeply integrated spyware program. I can fix it, but I will need to reboot my laptop, which will destroy all the files it currently has on it. I want to move my library, maybe to a flash drive, and then put it back on my laptop when its fixed. Is there any way to do this? If its important, I have the first ipod video, and I think my laptop has itunes 7.

  1. You can try this software to backup songs, videos, photos in iPod to PC, copy iPod songs, videos, photos to new ipod, computer or notebook.

  2. Got to EDIT then select PREFRENCES, now click ADVANCED, check the box " copy files to itunes music folder"

Now go back to the top of the itunes app and click ADVANCED then click CONSOLODATE LIBRARY.

After its all done, look in C/my documents/my music/itunes and copy the entire folder to an external source.

fix your PC or get another one and copy that folder back into the same location.

  3. Okay, If your ipod is not over halfway full, what you do is enable disk mode and then copy your iTunes music folder to it. This will hold it while you fix your laptop. If your iPod is full, you can get an external hard drive, and move your music there, or in iTunes under file choose create backup disks, and it will backup your music to CDs or DVDs. When you fix your laptop, you insert the disks again to get your music back. good luck!
