  1. update it

  2. Download this program Val its free and will find any spyware/virus etc.

Defrag the computer and delete and programs you do not use.

does the computer switch back on after closing down or do you have to wait a few minutes

  3. Your problem can be either Pc virus, cpu overheating, old PSU - power supplier( its a box inside of pc case that its giving power to all part of your computer parts example: CPU, HarDriver, Motherboard, Graphic card, so if your pc is infected with computer virus, i would sugest that you update your antivirus and run full scan, if it's cpu (processor) overheating than you should open case of your computer and clean it from the dust and check if the cpu fan is working ad clean all dust from the heat sink, (here is how to clean heat sink: (ttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJThxGmC2...

and the last think what can cause that your pc keep turning of is that your PSU may be old or broken, in this case all you can do is to upgrade and replace your PSU here is how to do it:(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cxqy-W7dR... and if this doesnt help, than you will need to buy a new PC, so good luck with your PC.

  4. it can also  be overheating

when a pc over heats it automatically turns it self off  open the machine up and  carefully  clean up all the  dust

clean the  dust off the fans  on the  processor and on the  back of the psu  fan they should be turning and makinga humming\whirring sound

if they dont they are either new  or dead or clogged

  5. should be a virus.

  6. Open task manager. If the cpu meter is near 100% a great deal of the time, then you have a trojan virus. If windows gives you a 30 second countdown, then that is also a sign.

You dont need a antivirus to get rid of it, and most cannot get rid of it anyways since they write protect themselves, but the instructions are very long so message me if you have either of those signs and Ill send them to you.

  7. Right click on your desktop, Preferences, Screen Saver - look at the bottom of the screen at Power Settings - change the settings in there to stop it turning off after x amount of time.

  8. it may not be getting enough power

  9. After all the keebabs and cider you've spilled on it I'm not surprised!!!

Sorry about your problem (problems) val - if you know what I mean - one can be supported by tea and sympathy (this I can do) - the other needs a more pc person than I, - I suggest you shoot Noah and replace both pc and hubby (thinking of you) x

  10. Any more details Val?

might be overheating - make sure the cpu and case fans are running. And the vents are not blocked

Failing that, run scandisk to test the disk drive. Don't think it wil be a virus

15 minutes! Are you serious? You'll have to consider wiping you disk and reloading Windows - or replacing the pc (about £200 for a new base unit)
