It is new, and I washed it with warm soapy water before I used it the first time, but the water smelled and tasted metaly. How do I make it stop smelling?

  1. If your aluminum water bottle doesn't have a lining inside, it's leaching into your water -- meaning that it's leaking trace amounts of aluminum into what you're drinking. You'd be better off with a stainless steel bottle, or an aluminum bottle with a lining. Do your research  before buying plastic bottles, though, as some degrade over time and are toxic.

  2. Clean it with soap and hot water for a few times

  3. Use hot water and white vinegar and soak it overnight.

    Use half and half.

If that doesn't help, try hot water and about 4 tablespoons of Arm and Hammer baking soda.  Mix/shake well.

Let them soak overnight and rinse well with cool water.

    :-)
