My best friend who went on an innocent vacation this summer and justttt emailed us telling us is getting married august 1st. obviously this news came to us as a shock and we wont be able to attend since its very short notice, (we're all only 18.) We are very nervous about the situation... but She is very happy and sure with her decision and by the time shes back (august 20th) she will be married.

Theres nothing we could do But support her decision.

We recently went all out on my other best friends bridal shower in june, and dont hve much money on us..

What exactly should we throw fer her since its not really a shower... or a bachelorette party... im not sure if we shud even call it a house warming party since her husband still has time to arrive to ny to be sponsored

any ideas or advice?? im thinking slumber party themed cuz its inexpensive... and she cud tell us what went down?

all ideas and advice are appreciated!

  1. yah def host a slumber party deal.

u know i was actually thinking abotu it this morning, when my best got married, i didnt want her to,but i didnt say anything. now shes miserable and i think i shouldve at least asked her "are you SURE".

but def host a small party, she wont expect much since shes young too, and maybe you could all pitch in for one good gift! lingerie is always fun and make sure youre all there for her day of the wedding :)

  2. Yeah am thinking the slumber parrty idea would be best.

  3. I like the slumber party.  You could each bring her wedding gifts, whatever you can afford, within your budget.  No one can be expected to spend money that they don't have (even Miss Manners agrees).  Besides, if she were into pomp and circumstance, she would have had a big wedding - she didn't, so take the cue from her!  By the way, you don't have to throw any of the traditional parties, as she eloped.  But as her friend I'd want to celebrate, hence the slumber party!

  4. slumber party!!!!

  5. Do the slumber party and play some naughty party games.

Also consider a "passion party" (s*x toys).  Not just naught, but useful advice for a new couple's s*x life.  Bonus: they don't cost anything.  The demonstrator will come for free and, if you are hosting, even give you a discount.  She works off commission.  If someone wants to charge...look for someone else.
