hi I have a 98 malibu v6 3.1 3100 it appears to have a leaking head gasket., there is no water and oil mix so ive been skeptical,. but i noticed aspray of water coming from underneath my plugs i have only checked my front head 4 and 6 has no compression and 2 has 60 ithink im supposed to have 90 but im not sure so anyway my scenario is i fix my front head ,but if i do that i still might have a problem cause i dont know what is going on with the other head and i almost got my first one off., i have to pull the engine to fix the back and for the money to fix em both i mighteswell buy a used engine and drop it in since the other has to come out anyway or i can sell my car for400 to someone that was interested in it cuz they have a motor for it and the car is in great condition they probally will sell it for around 3500 ,So i guess what im asking is what would be my best option or smartest and cheapest (of course just my front head would be the best if its the only thing wrong basically what r my chances of changing my head and/or my gasket and that being all thats wrong ) Someone got advice Please

  1. You may not want to hear this because thiis is no answer and still it's not gospel. Over the years I have installed at least 15 single head gaskets on 'V' type engines and in all that I've only once found an engine with both head gaskets blown. I won't tell you to go for one, but I will tell you that it's usually the head nearest the radiator. ME, I'd go for the one.

                                  "BRILLIANT"!!!!

    EDIT:

A lot of people gonna say it'll put more pressure on the old gasket!

BULLSTUFF, If it ain't broke, DON'T FIX IT!!!!!!! [MECHANIC'S LAW]
