hi

my poor cat has burnt some of his fur. he knocked a candle over and some of the hot wax has gone on him. i couldnt get the wax out as it dried before i got to him. the hair where he has been burnt is now falling out. i was just wondering if the hair will ever grow back again? how long it will take? and if i should use anything to promote hair growth in the areas needed?

thanks!

  1. Our golden retrievers used to burn their hair all the time when they got too close to the fire, dont worry, it grows back.

If your cats hair is falling out it sounds like the burn is pretty serious, make sure the area is cooled immediately- ideally you would want to put your cat under running water but that isnt much of an option for cats. If you have an ice pack you can apply it to the burn for a few minutes to reduce swelling and pain.

The hair shouldnt take too long to grow back but if the burn is bad and the skin blisters it will take a little while longer to heal. It will probably take a few weeks to a month for the hair to grow back again.

I dont think there is much you can do to stimulate hair growth.

  2. Well maybe yes animals can grow back fur (if they have fur...)

  3. this happened to my friend's cat too except it was on it's eyebrow D:

i think it will grow back except fine thin hair and a lighter color

  4. Yes i should grow back,as long as the skin wasn't burn.

Its should take 2-3 weeks max,in a a week to 2 weeks you should start to see short soft hair coming through.

After that it will grow to the normal length.

If they are no signs of growth them maybe contact a vet.

    Hope this helps.x*x

  5. It will grow back, don't worry about it. Just get all the wax off the cat, you may need to cut it off. That hair will also grow back. ;)
