My daughter came home from summer camp infested with head lice. I seem to have got all live bugs out. LOTS of nits. I need a fast easy way to get em out( Without shaving her head). I have an 8 month old & 5 year old that I need to take care of as well. I had already cut about 6 inches of her hair off. But my goodness the nits. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

  1. They don't like cocconut oil.. But has for right now I heard this from alot of people. Put mayo all over her head in hair then put the plastic wrap around her head have it there for two hours.. Then wash it out and get those nits out. You need to vaccum everything.. Wash clothes in hot water.. Bag stuff animals for four weeks. They don't like hair dryer either.

  2. You need to use a product designed to get rid of them.  FYI...lice LOVE clean hair...don't let her wash her hair so often and when she does..put in mousse or a leave in conditioner..lice will then stay away because the hair is coated.

  3. put liqud lysal in her head it might sting a little but it will get read of any nits or lice u have not got...... only do it fore 10 mins

  4. Have you used RID?

  5. Rid and the Equate Brand make a gel that makes removing the nits easier.  Also you can look it up for home remedies.

  6. try vinegar and olive oil my mom used that on me and worked better than the head lice shampoo and the rid. just sook her head for like 20 minutes and then wash it out.

  7. zFirst off, make sure to wash ALL her bedding, and clothes that she has been wearing, she is probably going to need new pillows and everything.

I would go to the drug store, they should have lotion and head treatment that should kill the lice, than she is going to have to spend a while in the shower washing the dead lice out of her hair.

    That might help

  8. Go to your local pharmacy and get the RID it really works well and will kill most to all lice. You can repeat the process a few day after to fully be sure to get rid of them all. :-)

  9. omfg! doctor doctor dcotor if youve tried the hair stuff!!

  10. You need to get lice shampoo from your pharmacy.  You also need to wash all of your daughter's clothing, as well as bedding, pillows, toys (especially stuffed animals) as well as those of the baby's because by now they have spread.  That home made "remedy" is faulty at best.  You should have gotten the shampoo etc in the very beginning...now you're going to have to make sure EVERYTHING is cleaned and lice free in your home.

  11. If you go to the store there should be hair lice shampoo you can get it at the doctors to or bathe her in viniger!

                Hope she gets better!

  12. Just go to the store and buy shampoo for lice. There is no need to cut the child's hair. You will also need to wash all the bedding in the house, I think in hot water. You can also call the doctor and see what else can be done.

  13. wow. i think mayo would do.. put it on her head. there r medication for lice i dink. all her stuff like clothing, bed sheets, ect. i guess put em in a big garbage bag and seal the. i don't think u should let the little ones near her. im not sure if it would work. hey what do you expect from a 14 year old girl. btw. i never got lice before.
