Help-my daughter does not have strep throat but does have scarlet fever-more-?

where can i find a site that says u can get this n still not have step throat.?

she gets it every year-we got a new doc (new insurance) that says u cant have it unless u have strep throat. it will take a week for the records to get there. i dont have that kind of time! she is covered in the sandpaper bumps n they wont even listen to her old doc!

  1. your daughter did have strep and now its scarlet fever!!!  hurry up and get the dr to give her antibiotics!

The insurance doesn't say you can't have scarlet fever without strep throat...it says that in order for the insurance to COVER the claim your strep throat has to have been the CAUSE of the scarlet fever.  Your doctor has indicated that there was no strep involved so the insurance is NOT going to pay on the claim...I suggest next time your policy comes up for renewal you actually READ it and if you don't understand what it says take it to your agent or if it's through your employer discuss it with your HR department.  The insurance company is right.

    "Occasionally, scarlet fever follows a streptococcal skin infection, such as an infection of burns or wounds, or impetigo. When this happens, the rash and related skin symptoms appear, but there are no symptoms related to strep throat."
