  1. get them tired, by having them involved in sport activities.. like running, swimming, cheer leading, basketball. many of these activities you can also participate in.

  2. Make her play a lot in the day,do some exercise walk, run, swim, ride a bike, join in a soccer team or other sports all those things will make her tired in the night and she will go to sleep.

  3. Don't allow her to watch television an hour before bedtime, she should be calming down prior to bedtime.  Give her a bedtime routine bath/shower, tooth brushing then to bed, read or write in a journal, then lights out.  Try playing some soothing music (my girls listen to classical)

  4. She seems to have a lot on her mind or is uncomfortable. Try buying her new sheets or pajamas. Also she might need a routine to get her body tricked into going to sleep. This can be something you both work out and she carries out herself after a while. For example, start telling her to get ready for bed at the same time every night including weekends. She could bathe or brush her teeth, read a book or lie on the couch, what ever relaxes her. While she is doing this talk to her about the day and really listen. After about a week of doing this she should be in the swing of it. Oh, wake her up at the same time every morning too. This will get her body clock working. If that doesn't work, try wearing her out. Take her swimming or hiking during the evening to get her tired.

  5. check to see if its her bed?

When I was younger, I had the same problem, only to find out that it was my bed's springs keeping me up.

  6. well stop the TV 30 min b4 bed time then heat her up a glass of mily and have her pick out a book you can read to her then have her pick her favorite stuffed animals and read to her while she has her milk good luck!

  7. Have you tried playing soothing music quietly for her?  Or one of those night lamps that puts the soft light on the walls that rotates with pictures of clouds?  My daughter is just about to turn 8 and that helps her to go to sleep.  good luck!!

  8. my 9 year old sister does the exact thing. she keeps my whole family up until 1 am. my mom and i think its just a phase. non of the answers those people ea giving you work. ya.... my family is trying to find out whats going on. but once i find out i will tell you.  but i think its just a phase. when i was that age i did the same thing..

  9. give her the vitamin calcium 30 min's before she goes to bed she will go right to sleep. always works for me.

  10. I would talk to her pediatrician about it.  My son is 8 1/2 and he has this problem.  On occassion the Dr told me to give him children's benedryl to help him fall asleep.  Other than that, I have him read in his bed, that usually makes him sleepy.

  11. Hello, I myself dealt  with this issue with one of my sons for a very long time. I don't agree with giving them benedryl. I think that is is almost like drugging the child. Something that we did was warm milk before bed, nice warm showers or baths with lavender an hour before bed. I think the thing that helped us most is melatonin! It is an all natural herb that can help relax you so you can sleep.( it is actually a chemical found in your body) They sell if in many different forms.(we used the liquid) It is not habit forming and they will not depend on it all the time. My son use to think he needed it so after I while I would fool him and tell him I put it in his water(I really didn't) and he would go to sleep thinking he had his Sleep stuff! Works wonders! Now things are great, he goes to bed at 8 and is sleeping by 8:30 with no issues. Hope all this will help you a little also do a search for melatonin online you will find lots of info! It is easily accessible you can find it most anywhere even Walmart has it!

  12. tell her to read a book until she falls out
