I have light blonde hair, bought a new hair dye kit and highlights today a blone and brown one, only someone has switched them round or the wrong dye has been put in the wrong box my hair is now red bright patchy red it looks awful. i went back to the shop and they gave more of the original dye to dye it bac, but after i have spoken to a proffessional hairdresser and she said this wont work it needs to be professionaly went bac to the shop and he said he will contact the higher person to find out what to do to get the funds to pay for my hair to be done. What are my rights? he saif they may turn round and say i should have looked at the bottle but then they should have them sealed up with a security tag or they should check them at the tills? how far can i take this cos it is gonna cost a fortune to put right. plz help i dont want to go out looking like thi sit really looks bad !

  1. dishwashing soap

  2. i have ginger red hair, and i resently died it a more reddy colour, cause my hair was going brownish.

  3. Wel...try this dye ur hair alllllllll over  again or just wait till  ur hair drains out the red ugly colour but i suggest ur just dye it over

  4. Have had a similar problem when I put a lightener in by hair, but because I have red undertones I need to use anything with "ash"on it or it will just go funny colours, because you went to a shop instead of a salon, all the shop can do is refund your money, its a case of buyers beware, I dont think you can sue the shop, you chose it so unfortunately you'll have to put it down to a life experience, maybe you would have been better off paying for the treatment in the salon in the first place, yes they are expensive, but you only get what you pay for and it was you after all that bought the wrong product, you will have to very vigilant in future to stop this happening again, sorry about your hair, its not fair when you think you've done the right thing, but its best left to those who know, hope you can get it sorted, with us girls its a main part of our look so yeah I'd be cranky too but its just one of those things that happen, goodluck! :)

  5. Dye it again. What people normally do is test it on the nape of your neck before putting it all on to see what colour it is!!

I have naturally ginger hair so think about what i have to go through every single day of my life because my mum won't let me dye mine.

Tbh, it's no big deal if people laugh, they laugh... so what? They can go ahead they aren't very nice people, that's all!!

Instead of trying to change the way you look, try help change people's lives which is WAY more important.

  6. Sadly, DIY hair dye products can have traumatic results, first off, smile, it could have been worse, you could have lost the hair through a chemical reaction rather than just coloured it patchy red.

It's a case of buyer beware I'm afraid, there are warnings on the packets and if you try to take it up at law, you may be asked to provide proof that you followed the instructions, and did a test strip on a few strands first, it's churlish to suggest a security tag on hair products to be honest, and I suspect at law, a judge would agree that you should have checked with the test. Maybe just buy one with a seal on the box. (L'oreal, garnier etc). even f it's the last pack in the shop, if the seal is broken... Walk away.

The best thing you can do is probably wash it through very thoroughly, book an appointment with a VERY professional hairdresser, take the original packets with you, and let them do thier work. Sadly it's gonna take ages to grow out. (maybe think about buying some neutralisng shampoo too ?)

I know that's far from perfect, but you're into damage limitation territory here. Next time, buy from a different retailer, and maybe a different brand.

    good luck.

  7. Most stores sell a product called a haircolor remover.  Revlon and Loreal both make them.  If your hair is longer than a bob get two boxes.  Get the color you usually use.  Go home and use the haircolor remover just as the box says to.  Then you can recolor your hair the correct color.  you don't have to have a professional do your hair to fix it.

If the box had the wrong stuff in it then the store should give you a refund.  They can't do much more than that though.  If a customer switched the stuff in the box they have no control over that.  Going forward you should always open the box at the store and verify all the right bottles are inside the box.  I have seen people swap out color before so you should always check.
