i have recently bought a dell inspiron 1525 at the end of june and it has been working fine up until now.

the battery is running low and it wont recognise the fact that i have plugged in the charger and wont charge. i have another dell 1525 in the house and tried to use the charger from that but still no luck.

  1. End of June this year would mean it's still under warranty.

If it was bought this year you should be sending it in for a free repair instead of asking us to figure out what is wrong (i.e. contact Dell).

  2. I had the same problem with my toshiba.  What happened was that the outlet on the back of the computer that the cord goes into got bent and was no longer connecting.  I had to send it to the manufacturer and get it repaired.

However--- before you do that, make sure that the cord isn't bent where it goes into the back of the computer.  If it is, you might try just bending that so that wires right there are touching again.
