  1. In the future dont touch anything in the tank when a litter is born. There is a chance the mother will come back to them. If you would like to take matters into your own hands then buy the smallest bottle you can find (go to petsmart) and buy some kmt cat milk that you can find at walmart. baby gerbils need to be fed every hour. If you seperate the mother from the babies make sure to make an nest for the babies and its also a good idea to put them in a warm place.

  2. all wait about 2 to 3 week before change the bedding, but how that mother back I wish you luck and hope you learn from this

  3. You shouldn't have messed with the bedding so soon after birth.  She's likely feeling stressed.  Make sure the cage is in a quiet place, and she'll either go back to the baby and take care of it, or she won't.  (Most likely she will, though, gerbils are very good mothers.)  Unfortunately, there isn't much else you can do.  It is extremely hard to properly take care of an abandoned rodent at that age.

ETA:  It's okay to handle gerbil babies from a young age.  I was in a similar position before with regards to getting a pregnant female from a store.  The best thing to do right now is to give the mom new bedding (Like tissue) but not taking anything else out from the cage.  Put it somewhere quiet, possibly dark if you can, and just leave her be in quiet and peace for awhile.  Hopefully, she will return to the baby once she sees that everything is fine.

  4. rodents oftenn abandon their young at an early age. your best bet is if it  can eat solid food is to give it some seed, like regular rodet feed, if it cant eat it then its to young and will probley die..im sorry if it doesr

  5. Do you pick the baby up alot?
