Help naming toy form 1997-1998?

Question

they were more like collectibles that i remember the kids in my class would trade. they were these little plastic creatures that were different colors, there were tons of them in lots of colors and i remember people had like buckets full of them and if someone liked one of yours you could trade it for one of theirs, they were kinda transparent colors cuz you could hold them up and see through them. i think they were around either in 1997 or 1998 but i've been looking everywhere and cant find them or remember what they were called. I'm pretty sure the name started with a T. any ideas are welcome
