Help! need all input I can get about FIP in cats

I have posted here before concerning my little girl cat that has been sick for 3 weeks. She was admitted to animal hosp. and released after

2 days. In the meantime she is getting more lethargic, but has been

grooming herself. I took her back to vet today and a different vet examined her. When she first went to the hospital she had bloodwork done and urinalysis, the bloodwork came back fine the urinalysis came back urinary tract infection she was on baytril (antibiotic) for 10 days. I left her there this time overnight as they couldn't do another urinalysis because her bladder was empty. I asked them to do another

bloodwork series and to test for hyperthyroidism also. Vet thinks she might have FIP, but she is not showing any clinical symptoms except

lethargy. and decreased appetite, but she has gained 8 ounces in the three weeks she has been sick. Vet said she could feel no fluid in

abdomen. she is not running a fever, no diarhea or vomiting. She says

the Baytril should have cleared up infection, but her bladder is still tender. I need all help I can get about FIP as from what I have read she

should have more symptoms than she has and if she does have it, I know it is fatal but is there a pallative treatment to extend her life some and make her more comfortable as I plan to bring her home. Thanks for listening, please all answers will help in this stressful time.

Google FIP, Dr Addie. She is an expert. But your cat could have many things besides FIP. Recovering from a UTI is slow oftentimes and repeat Urinalysis/Cultures are often done 2 weeks after finishing antibiotics.

sometimes its quite hard to tell if a cat has fip because some cats dont really show all the signs or any signs at all until the last minute. fip is incredibly deadly and a fast killer. if you have other cats that have been exposed to this possible fip cat, i would suggest getting them tested as well.
