  1. you're probably coming out too early try to stay tighter in the air and make sure you're completely around before coming out it may just be a half a second longer

  2. kick your leg through and think about jumping through... climbing up, snapping, and then landing. If you are swinging your free leg you will probably under-rotate.

  3. As you take off, *snap* into a backspin position.  The quick snap will help you complete the rotation.  In your take off, pause for a second just before getting your arms and leg through, making sure that you're not rushing the jump, which may result in a popped jump.  Quickly pull in to a backspin with your arms tight, elbows pulled in.  Stay in long enough that you'd think you would have done a double and hit a strong check out at the end of your awesome axel!  :)  Good luck!

  4. Be sure to pull in to a backspin position. To make this easier, make sure you are pulling your right knee through before you cross your legs (if you are a righty of course).  Off-ice practice helps with the rotation. Keep up the good work!

  5. I'm also working on my axel, and believe me, I know the feeling!  To help get the rotation, I would suggest training off ice, by doing leg lifts, and practing the rotation of your axel off ice as well.  If you have a basement or you can go outside (you might feel stupid, but this does help) practice jumping harder.  It is easier to land off ice (much easier!).  Also, try to make sure to bring your arms in at the same time as your legs, and make sure to swing your arms right before you jump.  Be sure to keep your arms in for the whole jump!  The leg lifts reallllllly helped me with mine.  Best of luck!  Remember, the axel is a really advanced/difficult/hard move, don't get too discouraged!

  6. bend your knees, and push off hard when you jump.  practice makes perfect.

  7. maybe doing a little more strength training would help.

  8. make sure that you are not jumping round the corner , hold your forward inside edge and then bring you knee through really hard as if your are going to kick someone , pull in really tight (squeeze ankles down and pull arms in tight) , and when you come to land make sure that your body doesn't brake in the middle (if so work on you stomach muscles - do sit ups) and don't sit down on the landing ,  if you feel that you are going to fall just keep fighting and only put your hand out to save you you if your body weight is forward - try to stay upright ! lol !

    Hope this helps ! =]

  9. u just need to practice more , thats all.good luck
