  1. How old are you? If you are over 18 then you can go to a bank and get your own account and then cash it that way. Ifyou are under age then your parents would have to go with you to open an account for you or you would need to sign it over to them for them to cash it. No reputable bank will cash a check for a non customer without a state or government issued id. The reason is because of all of the fraud and identity theft now days. They will not take that risk.

  3. I would suggest that you go to a grocery store, and if you're still having problems, then you may need to go get an official state ID.

You may want to also bring other information to the bank such as a social security card or birth certificate, and try seeing if they can call the person who wrote you the check to verify the procedure.

  4. You should get a state ID because you will probably encounter other situations where you will need proper ID.

In this case, just get your parents to cash it for you.  If you have some reason that you don't want your parents to know about it, I am already concerned about where you got this check from.  I think you will need your parents advice here.  Talk to them.

  5. You are going to have to sign it over to your parent and have one of them cash it or get the state ID.  No store (that is legit--and the ones that are not will charge around20% to cash it) will cash it with only a student ID.  Does your school have a bank on campus?  If they do then you may be able to cash it there.
