Help needed adoption breakdown birthparents rights?

where can i get advice regarding the following i had 2 sons but my marriage brokedown it was very messy and violent and i was the receipient so i moved abroad when i returned i found out one of my sons had been adopted and one was in foster care i was now in a loving and caring relationship i applied and had my son returned to me who was in foster care but thought there would be no contact with my adopted son until he was 18 though my other son could have contact via a letterbox scheme well right out of the blue we found out he had been kicked out of the adopted home and for the last two years he has been in and out of hostels he and us want him to return to live with us but i have found out i can get into trouble because he is technically not my son he is still the adoptees responsability can anyone give any advice regarding my rights

  1. If he is over 16 he can live where he likes - I am assuming he is over this age because otherwise he wouldn't be in hostels and would be made to go home.

    I would suggest you speak to a solicitor/CAB if he is under 16 and then to social services.


  2. If an adoption is disrupted why shouldn't the natural parents have the chance to reconnect with their child. There is actually a similar case under review in the United States. I would contact a lawyer...this child should not be left out living in youth hostels all alone. See what you can do to bring your child home.

  3. If his adoption has been disrupted, you might be able to apply to get your rights re-instated.   Contact a GOOD family law attorney, and his caseworker.
