Question:

Help needed for 360 to PC monitor connection?

I have a standard PC monitor and i was wondering a few things:

1. What cable do i need to connect an xbox 360 to a PC monitor?

2. Is the official microsoft cable the only one available or is there a cheaper alternative?

3. Will the quality of the graphics be worse than if I connected the 360 to a TV using the standard cable?

4. The monitor lacks speakers but is there a headphone jack in the 360 i could connect some speakers to?

  1. 1. You need the VGA Cable, I have the official one myself which set me back £20 but comes with a DVI converter for LCD monitors and a phono-to-jack adaptor for the audio. http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/hardware/x/xbo...

    2. GAME sell an own-brand one for £15 but that doesn't come with the converters, just the cable.

    3. Depends on what TV you're using, if you have a standard CRT TV then yes the picture will be better as the VGA cable supports much higher resolutions than a standard TV. If you have an HDTV though, you won't notice much improvement, if any.

    4. Neither the 360 or the VGA cable have a headphone connection, although the VGA cable does come with an optical output for home cinema systems and 2 phono cables for connection to a cheap set of speakers or a hi-fi.

  2. I need the exact same help with this
