Help needed please asap?

i have loaded a trial copy of nero 8 from off there web page put the key code in and boom, i got a message sayin the windows could not find my doc`s. and when i click on start and i have no docs no control pan no program files, as u can guessi`m tryin to do a system restore but it`s not there..where can i find it on my pc.....at the mo im removing the c**p tht i had put on last nite pppppppplease help me

Try a restart to see if that helps, but I'm afraid the system restore being deleted sounds like a major infection as that's the first thing they attack to stop you using it to remove the infection.

If the restart doesn't help, then run a full scan with both your anti-virus and anti-spyware.  If they don't find and remove the problem, see if you can still connect to the internet.  If so, download these and then run scans

If you can't connect to the internet the usual way, try it in safe mode:

Switch off laptop

Switch on and press [F8] rapidly until a black screen appears

Use up / down arrows to select Safe Mode with Network

Press Enter

If this doesn't work, you may have no option but to format your entire hard drive and re-load your operating system.

Looks like windows is running in Reduced Functionality Mode if its Vista.

press( Ctrl+ Alt+ Del) keys of the keyboard altogether  the task manager will come up  

click File

click new task

type in:  restore

click on rstrui

u will get the restore system
