Will i start to lose weight? Some advices appreciated!?

Hi, I am a 19 year old girl, 50kg and 156cm.

I know i fall in the average weight but I feel so flabby and fat (tummy and thigh, and double chin), compared to my friends. I have short waist and legs, so i feel very self conscious of myself, and i have flabby arms.

Lately i made some adjustments to my life, can anyone advice me if this would work? I want to make sure just in case i would be disappointed..

Morning - Yoghurt (about 8am)

- Sandwich (low fat olive butter and grilled chicken patty/egg with veggie) (about 10.30 am)

Lunch - Noodle with soup, veggie, meat/ rice/ chicken chop etc I try to eat a slightly more filling meal here (about 1.30pm)

Dinner - Baby carrots, some sushi/ a bowl of cream soup

(i try to eat as little as possible, but food that i would feel full)

If i want to snack i chew on baby carrots - would this make me fat?if i eat it like, 10pm before bedtime?

I recently started to join a gym, i am going for their classes. Monday - pilate. Tue - stretch aerobics. Thurs - dance class. Before classes i try to run for 15mins (brisk walking slope 10,5mins and jog 7.5/8 for 10mins)

Weekends as i spend alot of time with my boyfriend (he eats alot), I kinda eat slightly more, sometimes even fast food and i go jogging with him only once on saturday.

Anyone thinks that this is doom for failure or would i eventually lose weight (how long?) and would my body looks better?

Advice and tips would be much appreciated! Thank you to anyone who tries to help

  1. A good way to get quick results would be to start lifting weights. It'll make your muscles appear more prominent, and you'll feel less flabby even if you haven't lost any fat yet. Plus, muscle is what burns calories; if you gain muscle, you'll burn fat faster. And don't be afraid of bulking up, women don't bulk up like men. Unless you're into crazy body building, you won't look like a guy. Women's muscles grow longer as opposed to bulkier.

The best thing to do is talk to a personal trainer at your gym; they should take you through an orientation of the equipment there. And stop by your library and check out a book on weight lifting for women.

But anyway, you seem to be on the right track, especially the breakfast thing. It's really good to eat breakfast, especially if you're becoming more active. And yes, you can eat a snack before bed and it won't make you fat. Contrary to popular belief, a light snack before bed isn't going to make you fat (plus, it'll help keep your metabolism from slowing down). Don't eat to heavy before bed though or it'll keep you up at night. And carrots or celery or fruit make a great snack. I usually pig out on blueberries and bananas.

Oh, and you probably won't notice yourself losing weight; you'll notice one day that your pants are more lose, but that's it.
