Help needed with a Thomas post office loader set!?

I can't get Percy to collect any balls as they miss him completely. Please has anyone got any solutions on what I have done wrong with putting it up. i've tried everything!

You know the pieces of track with the upraised bits on them, well I think you have them the wrong way round. you need one of them where Percy collects the balls, otherwise he won't slow down enough to collec them.

We had the same problem as you when we bought the game, and it's not obvious from the intstructions as to how you lay the track.
