Help needed with setting up my stereo.?

i am mooving this weekend and i need to know how i should set up my stereo system!

i have a denon home theatre receiver and 12 speakers i have them all hoooked up in my room i am now but i am moving to a smaller room and need to know some good speaker placement ideas

again i am moving into a 8 by 10 room and i have 12 speakers 4 of them being regular speakers and 5 of them being surround sound speakers (front left center front right rear suround left and rear surround right) 2 15 inch speakes in big boxes and a subwoofer

any help???

  1. Why do you have 12 speakers hooked up to a 5.1 or 7.1 system? Your speakers should be pointed at your head where you sit. Sub placement is something you have to decide the best spot in the room. You should use a SPL meter to set up your speakers. Get sound and vision home theater tune up DVD. More speakers isnt better.


  2. the bass can be set up anywhere because the human ear hear that frequency omnidirectional (can't tell where its coming from) al other speaker you need to idealy put at listening height or slightly lower facing where you are going to listen the music the most.
