Help no sound from with tv hooked into Philips hts3544 surround sound please help?

Hi, I just bought a new Philips home theater system HTS35555 or HTS3544 same model just diffrent colors anyways I have hooked everything up and I get sound through the dvd player/ cd player and the radio I just can't pick up the tv sound I hooked the audion in to the audio out just like it says still nothing I have a brand new tv only 2 days old so what could be the problem someone help customer support is closed thanks

hope sure you have it set to the input your sound is connected to, try using your remote and select line one line two exc.

the rca (red white)audio cable should go from the audio out on the tv to the audio in on the souround sound.
