Help on ASEAN Scholarship test?

I'm preparing to take the test but I don't know if I can get accepted. What should I do and/or add to my academic info to be able to make the short list in the callbacks? And with 3 years to go, what should I concentrate on to be accepted in the scholarship? I'd really really appreciate the help.

I am a scholar and currently I am studying in Singapore.... This is my fourth year pursuing my education here.... I am glad that you applied for the test and i wish you well for the coming test.

Well... i am going to give you some advices and tips for the test. The test consists of three sections, GAT (IQ test), English then Maths. Please do not be fooled by the IQ test!! This test is not the same as the "normal" IQ test you found on the web!!! The whole test takes 20 minutes and there are more than 50 "picture patterns" questions. At the start of the paper, it will be easy but it will get harder towards the end of the whole section. So the tip is: DO IT FAST!! DON BE FOOLED BY THE EASY QUESTIONS AT THE START OF THE PAPAER! and try to complete all the qns because this test is the most important test, if you miss out most of the qns, then bye bye to your scholarship test!! The whole section will be picture-based. It is not as hard as the IQ qns found in the web, but it will get super tedious towards the end.( I am not sure whether the format has been changed for the past few years but i think it will remain the same). WELL, don get panic... just be confident...

For maths and english, if you are from Philipines or English educated, then English would be ok for you, maths should not be a problem to you too!! Just study hard for English and Maths paper. I think Maths should not be a problem to some of the ASEAN coutries like Vietnam, China, Philipines, etc.....

I personally feel that ASEAN test is quite difficult to gain entry, unless you are a super genius in your school,or you have a teacher that has experience in this scholarship.The demands of the scholarship are quite high. If you fail to meet the target once you gain admission to the school, you will be out!!

Therefore,I STARONGLY ENCOURAGED you to take school-based scholarship, because it is easy and the demands are not too high on the scholars.

Don be too happy if you get into the scholarship, because some ppl regretted when they get in to the scholarship. The first year is a hard year for most of the scholars, especially due to (home sick)!! Some scholars even cried because they missed their family too much (Imagine you leave ur family for the whole 3-4 months or even one whole yr!!). If you live in Malaysia then good for you, because you can go back to ur hometown easily!!

Some scholars in my sch regretted after coming to Singapore because the syllabus here is easy for them. Although Singapore is an educational hub, the standards are quite low, especially to the scholars from (Vietnam, China, Philipines, etc...).The only problem that halt their performance is only language.... (The english standard here is quite high)

So don get excited if you gain admission...because some ppl regretted to study in Singapore due to home sickness. For me, it is ok....

Once you get into the interview part, try your best to speak perfect English!! and most of the ppl fail in this section..
